While on our way back from La Madaglena on Saturday. We were so lucky to join the carnival. I have seen many local people dress up in traditional costume.

Meet up with good friends in Sant Teodoro

It was a nice catch up session with Mauro's best friend, Mauro. Both of them named Mauro. It is a common name in Italy I guess.
My boy friend is the one on right hand side. We had a nice relaxing day.

We visited Sant Teodoro for quite a few times during the trip. Because it is not too far away from Nuoro. It is one hour driving distance

We spent good times by the beach. There are many beaches and resorts in Sant Teodoro. We accidentally bumped into Mauro's friend, Paolo. He was running ATV tour business. We were so lucky that he invited us to join him for ATV tour with a German Couple.

It was my first time took a ATV ride. I was sitting behind Mauro with eyes closing all the times. I was so scared when we were riding up the rocky mountains. The view is spectacular and amazing.

Family dinner at Nuoro

Did you see the little chair lean against the wall? It was made by Mauro's grand father for him. So sweet and memorable.

Fresh, super juicy and sweet tomotoes at the front yard brought back from papa Andrea farm.
Lovely mama Lucia cooking dinner for us.

Lovely happy family~~
Only manage to capture the appetizer.. The main course I was too hungry and forgot about taking picture.

It was a great dinner. Felt so warm and touch by their hospitality.

Nuraghe in Sardegna

"The nuraghe is the main type of ancient megalithic edifice found in Sardinia, developed during the Nuragic Age between 1900 and 730 BCE. Today it has come to be the symbol of Sardinia and its distinctive culture, the Nuragic civilization."

I remembered when I first arrived in Sardegna, Mauro's parent were so happy to see us arrived home. It had been nearly a year they never see their son. His mum has prepared some pastry for us. I felt so warm.

On the way going back to nuoro frm alghero airport, we have spotted a nuraghe. It was beautiful and well preserve historical building. Most of the sardegnian were proud of their history and ancestor. It was so amazing. From the conversation with them, I learnt that  there had about 7 nuraghes located at different mountain. Somehow there the people who lived in one point to another were able to communicate with each other from far. It had a few thousand years of history. The structure of the nuraghe were quite unique.

It was one of the features of sardegna. One of the must see when you were there.

Sardegna Beach

The beaches here were a bit different from those that I have visited in Asia.

Then I came to realised that I was stepping in an Island located in Mediterranean Sea. I used to study them from the text book about Mediterranean Sea when I was in Secondary School. I was lucky enough to travel so far and to learn about the place, the people, the food and the weather.

There were many beaches in this island. I would like to recommend two place where I personally like it. Orosei and Stintino. Both were beautiful, crystal clear water and white sands beach. Some of the beaches here is full of rocks. It was kinda uncomfortable to lying down for sun bath. I always prefer beach with tiny sands or with dry sea-grass. It was softer and more comfortable to lye down.

Stintino, one of the beach with wide beach and tiny white sands. I was visited here the day before I left Sardegna. How I wish I can spend more time here. During peak season, this beach can get very crowded with people.

Orosei, I had spent most of the time here because it is very near to Zio Lessio house. I like here because it is very quite and peaceful. I find myself had not been feeling so peaceful for very long. I am so lucky and always be blessed.

I missed them so much, Gracias and Elena.

There are still many beaches that I have not explored yet. Hope the next time will have more time to explore more places. I have so many things about Sardegna would like to share, but it gonna take up a lot of my time. I will try my best to write down as much as I can.

Where is Sardegna?

  1. "Sardinia, a large island in the Mediterranean Sea, has nearly 2,000km of coastline, sandy beaches and a mountainous interior popular for hiking. Its rugged landscape is dotted with thousands of “nuraghi” – ruins of mysterious Bronze-age stone structures shaped like beehives. The southern capital, Cagliari, has a medieval quarter called Castello, with narrow streets, 14th-century palaces and a 13th-century cathedral"
  2. First at all, It is my love's home.

  1. Forgive my poor geography knowledge. Before I met my love, I only knew there is an island in Italy, which is Sicily. I was so lucky to meet my love and got to know the place where I would like to call it home. It is totally different from the city. It has many beaches and mountains in the Island. I love this place so much because it is so relaxing. People here are simple and live basic life which you hardly find this kind of species in a city. It is also a place that has a very rich historical culture of Mediterranean.

  2. I was introduced to this Island when I have met my love in New Zealand last year. I still remember the very first time he showed me the picture of his hometown through google. My mouth was literary parted when I have seen the picture. I was very surprised and amazed by the beauty of the island. The first idea came to my mind at that point of time was I want to introduce this Island to all Asian. It is GOD DAMN nice.
